About once a day or so, I get up from his taxing duties and do several laps around the house at top speed. The humans enjoy this immensely. I'll run out of one room, into another, stop suddenly to see who might be around to give chase, and then take off again.
Usually towards the end of these episodes, as I begins to tire of this circus-like performance, the game evolves into one of hide and seek and I love to find new hiding spots to keep silent in while those dim-witted humans look around calling my name. Have they not learned I do not come like one of those wretched canniness?
This photo was snapped while I was in one of my more regular hiding spots, the bathtub. Other spots where I've been known to be found include:
One of my favorite things on the planet is to play with most any kind of fabric; sheets, blankets, or in the case of the video on this page, a rug. I'm known to burrow in them mostly, but I'm particularly fond of fabric when it's off the ground either hanging, being folded, etc. Obviously there is something alive in these materials and it needs to be rooted out immediately. Some of my favorites include:
In the case of the rug, it easily moves on our hardwood floors and bunches up when I pounce on it. Once an edge is picked up while the rest is drug along the floor, I can't help but try to save these moronic humans from the certain evil that can only be lurking beneath it.
Between pounces I'll sometimes let the humans drag me along while I lay on the rug or blanket as it trails behind us on the floor.
